THE BATMAN'S NEW TRAILER DEPICTS A DARK GOTHAM WITH SOME OLD ENEMIES.

The new teaser for "The Batman," the newest reinvention of the classic film franchise, shows a dark and brutal Gotham and teases the return of several of the superhero's most memorable foes.

At the DC FanDome event on Saturday, Warner Bros. and DC Comics revealed the trailer, along with new trailers for "The Flash" and "Black Adam." (WarnerMedia, CNN's parent company, owns Warner Bros.)

The trailer for "The Batman," directed by Matt Reeves, reveals a bullet-proof Robert Pattinson in the titular role, grunting and scowling in the superhero's now-familiar style as he beats up on a series of darkly lit, anonymous grunts. This version of the Batman will feature a different and grittier version of the Riddler, Penguin, and it's rumored that the Court of Owls will also play a role as villains in the movie alongside on & off again ally Catwoman played by Zoe Kravitz.
