What did you miss out on at Hampton Comic-Con 2021?

 

After COVID and quarantine and having to miss out on last year’s Hampton Comicon, the event returned this year after numerous Cons around the country reopened such as SDCC & NY Comic-Con where fanboys/fangirls, cosplayers, artists and other vendors came out masked up to enjoy each other’s creativity. 

The event has been going on for a few years at the end of October during the Halloween weekend at the Hampton Convention Center. This event attracts both fans of comics and anime every year. This year’s event featured special guests including Tim Reid (from Sister Sister & Steven King’s IT), Daphne Reid (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Simon & Simon, Snoops), Kenny James (The voice of Bowser from Mario Bros), Diane Pershing (The legendary voice of Poison Ivy from Batman the Animated Series), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog, The Wasp, and more), cosplay judge Viva Valentina, & cosplay guests, Melanin Hokage and Electric Seafoam! 

The event featured a gaming room, cosplay contests, panel speaking presentations, a dance-off & much-needed fun after we have all been quarantined in our homes from COVID-19. There were a lot of vendors selling artist prints, comic shops selling comics, Funko-Pops, and several other comics & pop-culture merchandise. Also, the 501st Legion and Hampton Roads Droid builders, Lemmata Chiropractic, Rebel Legion & various other vendors and companies were at the event. Much love to Hampton Comicon for showing love and admitting myself and my group, Comics & Techies.
